Sharpless 2-261 (Sh2-261) also known as Lower’s Nebula, is an Emission Nebula in Northern Orion. It is the brightest object just above center in this image. Below is the fainter Sh2-268, which along with several other objects are part of the OriGem Loop, a supernova remnant identified using radio data in the 1970s.
