Barnard 67a, 62, 63, 262 & 77

Dark Nebulae, Ophiuchus

May 2024. Cave Creek Canyon Observatory, Arizona Sky Village

This region is located in the Southern portion of the Constellation of Ophiuchus. It is dominated by the rich star fields of our Milky Way Galaxy and contains numerous Dark Nebulae. Whilst almost every part of this image contains a cataloged Dark Nebula, there are five standout objects. Barnard 67a (B67a) is just left and below center. Barnard 62 (B62) and Barnard 63 (B63) are seen in the lower left quadrant. Barnard 262 (B262) is just above center, and Barnard 77 (B77) is towards the top and just right of center.
