Stock 23 is a cluster in the constellation of Camelopardis. The cluster and dark nebulae are embedded in the larger Shapless cataloged nebula Sh2-202. Stock 23 was originally cataloged by Jürgen Stock and was ‘rediscovered’ in 1977 by John Pazmiño. Photometric studies suggest that stock 23 is simply a random formation and not a traditional open cluster with related stars.
There are several dark nebulae listed in the Lynd’s Dark Nebulae catalog surrounding the cluster.
